The Russells at Great House Barns at North Newton in Somerset welcome you to "Swallow Barn". We are about 6 miles from Bridgwater and about 8 miles from Taunton and our fully equipped cottage provides an excellent base from which to tour the whole of Somerset.
Our self-catering holiday cottage "Swallow Barn" was converted in the summer of 2005 and provides an excellent standard of comfort and convenience.
The stone and cob built barns date back to the 16th-Century, and, apparently, at one stage were used by Judge Jeffries to hold prisoners before trial in Somerset. We trust that you will find us more accommodating than that!
Swallow Barn is part of Great House Barns, the converted farmyard to the Great House. This unique property is set in our 3 acre smallholding, with cows, sheep, and chickens grazing in the orchard and paddocks. We are situated on the edge of the village, with access to all transport links, a beautiful coastline and a number of popular tourist attractions.
North Newton has a great pub and a variety of shops and local amenities are within 1.5 miles.
We hope you enjoy your stay with us.
